Current Seminars:

  • New Student Orientation - A requirement for all of our new students, this can be viewed online at your convenience, but it must be done before your first class. This seminar goes into Learning Theory, discussing terms you'll hear us discuss in class, concepts of training, and prepares you for all of our classes. This also goes over our facilities rules, our expectations, and all the things we offer. A link will be sent in all confirmation emails, but you only need to watch it once, however, ANYONE that is bringing your dog to class much watch it for the safety of all of our staff, our clients, and most importantly, the dogs.

  • Canine Communication - This is an in person seminar (streaming offerings will be available in the future) all about how our dogs speak to us, and it's primary purpose is to keep our dogs and families, especially those with children, safe. This is presented by the owner who is certified as a Dog Bite Prevention Educator and part of the Doggone Safe Program, and an AKC Canine Ambassador. This is a family-friendly seminar for children over the age of 8, and should be watched by any families that have children around their dogs. This is a requirement if you want your children to take classes with us. This is also an excellent seminar for those who are looking to adopt or have recently adopted, as we discuss why adopted dogs can have more struggles!

  • Canine Nutrition - This seminar talks simply about what dogs and cats need in their diets (macros and micros), along with how their bodies are different, and the three main types of diets. This also goes into detail about how to figure out caloric needs and reading those pesky labels! We don't push any diet, and are not sponsored by any food... this is just the science!

  • Why Does My Dog...? - Want to get nerdy? This is the neuropsychology about dogs, how they think, and what they feel, along with how we can adapt to their unique emotional needs. Want to know why your dog is leash barking or fence running? We go over canine neurology, the emotional process, cortisol levels and how they are affected, your dog's personalities, thresholds, and unique quirks. If you want the WHY behind your dog's behavior, this is a MUST VIEW!

How the Levels Work

Shelter and Rescue Program

Greetings, Heather here! Let me start with a story. Years ago, my husband and I were fostering for a rescue. Our fifth foster came along, and it was instant love. This poor baby was found at about 5 weeks of age with her siblings zipped up in a duffel bag on the side of the highway in Missouri. They had sarcoptic mange, and spent 7 weeks in isolation. She came to us at 12 weeks of age, sickly, and ravaged by the mange and the treatment. We couldn't let her go. Unfortunately, she developed rabies vaccinosis, a potentially harmful (and deadly) reaction to the rabies vaccine. She was also MDR1 positive. But Trinity was silly, and goofy, and a comedien. She stole everyone's hearts. But, as a trainer, I wasn't able to really take her places, no matter how much she loved to go, or how hard she would work, because she wasn't allowed to get a rabies shot, and the side effects of her disease were sometimes very hard to deal with. She had a complete lack of impulse control, seizures, and a variety of other problems. Sadly, we only had her about 6 years when the disease took it's toll. We had to let her go, and she took a part of all of our hearts with her.
